visualjob for IWS 8.3

apsware would like to inform you about the general availability of visualjob for IWS 8.3.

We have enhanced visualjob for IWS in many areas:

  • With release 9.3, IBM has changed the name of the Tivoli Workload Scheduler to IBM Workload Scheduler and IBM Workload Automation. This has forced us to change the full name of visualjob from VISUALjob for TWS to visualjob for IWS. To ensure compatibility with previous versions and to enable an easy upgrade path to visualjob for IWS 8.3, most of the underlying folder- and filenames will still contain the acronym TWS.
  • The Critical Path analysis now also supports operations within applications with multiple Input Arrival Times.
  • While creating a Critical Path report, the GanttView will be generated automatically. No extra manual step is required.
  • The HTML web report for the automated generation of IWS job documentation has been enhanced, too. The web report now contains Special Resource information and lists potential obsolete internal predecessor definitions.Click here to see a sample job documentation.
  • Enhanced support for IBM Workload Scheduler 9.3 data segments ADVDD, specifying input arrival times, deadlines and durations on operation level.
  • visualjob for IWS mainframe component has also been upgraded. Note: Please request a new license key for the mainframe component.
  • There is an interactive link between apsware analystics 1.8.5 and visualjob for IWS 8.3 via the newly created Windows Service called “ApsDashboardVjModeServiceTWS”. This allows the apsware analytics user to request Critical Path reports and IWS application documentation on demand.

visualjob for IWS 8.3 is compatible with apsware analytics 1.8.5.

We recommend upgrading to this new version as soon as possible.

visualjob for IWS 8.3, including software and documentation, is available from the apsware downloads area.
