• LDAP / Active Directory Password Authentication
  
  The user administration of APS Manager Console for Control-M now allows authentication of usernames and related passwords via the new LDAP / Active Directory interface. The APS Manager Server component also benefits from LDAP / Active Directory support though its integration with the APS Manager Console for Control-M.

• Push of Control-M Alerts via an RSS Feed
  
  Control-M alarms, visible in the APS Manager Console for Control-M can now be pushed via an RSS feed to any available RSS reader. The security settings of specific users are respected. Users can now receive Control-M alarms via their RSS newsreader on different devices, including smart phones and tablet devices.

• Visualization of Control-M Smart Tables
  
  Since Control-M 7.x, Smart Tables allow a hierarchical structure of Control-M job definition entities. VISUALjob for Control-M 8 now flowcharts this hierarchical Smart Table structure through an easy to understand “cluster in cluster” representation. Complex, hierarchical Control-M scheduling structures are easy to understand.

• Visualization of snapshots of the Control-M Active Job File
  
  In previous releases, it was already possible to visualize Active Job File structures of Control-M for Distributed Systems with VISUALjob for Control-M. With VISUALjob for Control-M 8 visualization for Control-M for z/OS Active Job File structures and even cross platform / cross server structures is available.

• New quality assurance feature: Detecting unresolved input conditions in the active Control-M environment to ensure uninterupted batch execution
  
  VISUALjob for Control-M 8 allows the user to analyze a snapshot of the active Control-M environment. Jobs that would be blocked from execution because of a missing (unresolved) input condition can be detected in an automated way. Detailed visualization and analysis functions assist in the identification and analysis of the problem. Production issues related to missing (unresolved) input conditions can be significantly reduced or eliminated.

TWSemon 4.2.0 is available immediately and comes with the following enhancements:

• Support for TWS for z/OS  8.6
• Cross TWS dependencies:
  Provides the ability to define, execute and monitor dependencies between different TWS systems in an easy and centralized manner.
• Extended Late monitoring:
  In addition to the monitoring of jobs not completed at a certain time, it is now possible to monitor jobs not started at a certain time. Instead of TWSemon LATE these alerts will be displayed within an error code of “NSAST – not started at specified time”.
• Enhanced Late monitoring of dynamically added jobs/applications
• Extended Notification events:
  In addition to the ability to build groups of operations for which a message will be issued after all operations of the group are completed, it is now possible to specify a time to cause TWSemon to issue a message, if at least one operation within the group has not completed by the specified time.
• A new Alert type RWTO is introduced
• The user may comment each entry of an administration definition for documentation purposes
• Each administration definition may be done via dialog functions or via batch functions, except
  • Filter definitions, which must be done via dialog because these are user-related,
  • Work station includes/excludes, which must be done via batch.
• It is now possible to limit the display of certain TWS systems within Working and Supervisor screen to specific users using different PARMLIB member for the dialog.

  Users can select with this new architectural enhancement, if the Statistical Database should use the Access database structure or an SQL Server database. (The SQL Server database itself is not part of the VISUALjob for Control-M license.)
